Prior to establishing Quay Capital in 2004, Chester held senior positions in leading private equity and investment banking firms in Australia and abroad.

Chester was previously an Investment Executive with a major UK and European private equity firm, Schroder Ventures (now Permira).  He was also Investment Director at a leading Australian private equity firm, Gresham Private Equity.  Prior to establishing Quay Capital, Chester was director of a boutique corporate advisory and private equity firm, Allen Capital.  Chester commenced his career with KPMG initially in South Africa and later in Auckland, NZ.

Chester is a Chartered Accountant and has a Bachelor of Commerce degree with post-graduate honours from the University of Natal, South Africa. He also holds an Investment Management certificate from IMRO, London and has completed the IPAA course, Advanced Insolvency Law & Practice II, from the University of Southern Queensland.
